We realize this makes arrangements difficult for our receiving rescues, and we are working diligently to increase our base of foster homes. Illness like kennel cough can cause surgery dates and transports to be postponed. Our goal is to move dog as smoothly and efficiently as possible, however, since we are dealing with animals and not widgets, things don't allays go according to plan. We will update you with any changes in scheduled dates as soon as we become aware of them. We will have the dog vetted as soon as possible based on stray hold and/or medical conditions which may affect surgery. You can also ask for assistance by contacting our rescue coordinator.Once you have confirmed, our next step will be arranging vetting for the dogs you have chosen and setting up pick up or transport. Please do not ask for a pending tag unless you are confident that you will be accepting the dog. Asking questions or getting information does not confirm a tag, so if you are very interested but need more information, we ask that you specifically ask us to place a "pending tag" while you work out the details. We promise to try to be fair and tag the dog for the first rescue who has asked to tag. JHS Please Confirm?" Some pets may have lots of interest, and the comment thread can be confusing. When you see a pet that you are sure you want to transfer from our shelter to your rescue, you will need to comment under the picture or post "Please tag for XYZ Rescue. This is not a regular occurrence, and we will let you know if we need to give a dog or puppy you are interested in a chance to be adopted locally. We call the process of choosing dogs "tagging". In that case, we do give local adopters first right of refusal. Occasionally, there may be dogs our puppies that have an "interested person" (local adopter) who is waiting for the dog to become available, or, the dog or puppy may be a type which we know we have many people who have expressed interest in adopting. ![]() Our shelter always has a great variety of dogs to choose from and normally every pet is available to be transferred to rescue. We want to make it simple for our rescue partners to choose animals from our shelter. ![]() We want to get animals out as quickly as possible and facilitate great rescue relationships, and promise to do our very best to get you answers or information as soon as we can. Our Rescue Coordinator is also our Foster Coordinator as well as our extra office person! We all wear many hats. We ask for your understanding that while we will respond to inquires as quickly as possible, we may not always be able to respond or provide requested information immediately.of Ag License (MO) and 501c3 certificate or any other applicable licenses. We will also need a veterinary reference to process your partnership application. We may ask for "rescue references" from other established partner rescue or area shelters. We will need some basic background information about your agency how long you have been involved in rescue and how your agency works.for example, if you have a facility or foster based,what your adoption protocol is and if you have an open door to accept returned pets.We need the full name, physical address and contact information for the agency as well as the specific information on what persons are specifically authorized to choose animals and enter into agreements regarding tagging and transport. ![]() We want to make partnering to save lives as easy as possible, but we will need a few things to get started. Our staff truly care about each and every animal, and want the very best for them, so of course want to make sure that all agencies we partner with are committed to the same high standards.
